Septicemia
Also called Hemmorhagic Septicemia

Symptoms: Hemorrhages (internal bleeding) at the base of the fins. Can be hard to see on darker fish. Fish may also
show bleeding from ulcers and some swelling may be present.
Cause: Gram-negative bacteria (Aeromonas hyrdophila)
Treatment:
One of many commercial medications used to treat gram-negative bacteria, such as Furan-2, Maracyn-Two, or Kanaplex.
Prevention:
Keep water clean at all times. Avoid sharing nets, etc., that have been in contact with affected fish.
