Hi and welcome to my website! My name is Jennifer Lapello, and I have been breeding Bettas since January 2006. I first fell in love with the newer types of Bettas when I saw some Crowntails listed online, and I immediately bought my first 3 pairs. These weren't the best fish, but they were responsible for starting the whole thing. In my quest to find out more about my new fish, I stumbled across Aquabid and the IBC website. After that, I was hooked. I started buying the best breeding stock I could find, mainly in Halfmoon, from many different breeders. I joined the IBC in April, 2006, and I started showing my fish in October, 2006.
I started out mainly working longfin Halfmoon in differents colors, along with one Crowntail line. Today, I am breeding several different colors in longfin Halfmoon, a couple different strains of Crowntail, Doubletail, Asymmetrical Halfmoon Plakat and the beginnings of a couple Symmetrical Halfmoon Plakat lines. So, what started out as 3 pairs of pet quality Crowntails turned into half of my basement filled with containers and tanks and tubs filled with fish in hopes of producing top show Bettas. It is that addictive!
I have won Reserve Best of Show three times (always a bridesmaid, never a bride LOL), at the FCB Fall Show, October 2006 (RBOSM - Orange HM ), FCB Fall Show, October 2007 (RBOSF - dark bicolor CTF), and MOBB International Show, April 2008 (RBOSM - extended red asymmetrical HMPK). I have also won numerous class and division awards. I am working with some really high quality stock in several lines now, and I am determined to get a BOS title by 2009!
Please enjoy my website. Right now, I don't have nearly as much up on this site as I want to, but I'm working on it as time permits. So please check back often!

UPDATE 4/14/08 - PLEASE READ
As many of you know, I had an issue with a seller using one of my images on eBay.
As a precaution, I have pulled my photo album down. I will be updating with new pictures as I can and watermarking everything.
My new photo album will be up ASAP with an entirely new format.
In the meantime, the offending seller continues to sell fish
on eBay with stolen images (this is confirmed). So, be very careful when purchasing fish online, especially on eBay from a seller
in Utah who sells all kinds of fish and other things. I would come out and say his username, but it may not be legal, so figure
it out from my hints. ; )
